San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy is a Southern California nonprofit land trust, now celebrating 30 years. The vision of the Conservancy is a world where biodiversity is preserved and people act to embrace nature as central to a healthy community. The mission is to protect and restore the resources of San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve, its watershed, and related ecosystems for the benefit of current and future generations.
The Conservancy is member-supported. Foundations, Corporate Members and Supporters help to make possible the conservation of nature and community here in North Coastal San Diego. The Conservancy invites residents and visitors to explore the 1,000-acre reserve on miles of trails that wind through distinct and rare coastal habitats. Join Conservancy tours and events. School children are on the trails weekly in naturalist-guided field trips. Volunteers and interns receive mentoring and assist in Conservancy community and conservation projects.
